Web 2.0 Mentality And Web 2.0 Success Habits
Some friends of mine found it difficult to start marketing their business with Web 2.0 or Social Media. That’s why I created this list of useful Web 2.0 success habits.
So here are my core values and fundamental beliefs when it comes to Web 2.0 Marketing and Social Media Marketing:

Success Habit 1: Focus only on sharing valuable content
Don’t try to sell anything. When you give valuable content to people they become attracted by your knowledge and expertise. They will then contact you and ASK if they can buy something from you or do something in co-operation with you. If you study the most successful people on the Internet they’ve all contributed and provided a lot of content online. The great thing about Web 2.0 is that it allows everyone to have huge exposure by providing a lot of content in different forms - like written, audio and video.
Success Habit 2: Focus on building relationships and forget about competition
In my Web 2.0 Internet Marketing World no competition exists, only collaboration. It’s amazing how many ways you can collaborate and achieve mutual success with, people who are in the same market than you.
I highly recommend you focus on building relationships, it’s helped more than words could ever explain.
Try to find the market leaders in your niche and develop a personal relationship with them. Comment on blogs within your niche and look for opportunities to collaborate and to initiate joint ventures.
Social Networks such as Facebook are one of the most useful places to develop and cultivate profitable relationships with other professionals in your industry. Do a search in Facebook groups, participate and get involved in the ones that are closest to your interest.
Success Habit 3: Focus on “Collective Success”
Many Web 2.0 experts and industry leaders achieved their success through relationships, collaboration and support with other professionals in their sector.
Saying negative things or spreading rumors about your competitors are totally outdated promotional methods. The Web 2.0 environment provides us with many more possibilities to co-operate and to create profitable joint ventures with our “competitors” than normal offline businesses.
The concept of “collective success” may be a bit difficult to understand and to implement in your marketing, because most of us are raised in a society that puts a lot of emphasis on rivalry and competition.
"The collective success" is the result of a group of peoples’ ability to collaborate in the distribution and exchange of information to provide knowledge and added value to a market segment.
When we put all our focus on finding profitable joint ventures and collaboration with other people in the same market, we will never run out of new opportunities and possible new business ventures.
Success Habit 4. Focus on taking action.
I was told by Tom Beal, one of my Internet Marketing mentors: “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get going”. I think this is vital in the Web 2.0 environment. My recommendation is to take action and improve the process as you go along.
Web 2.0 is all about adding your personal touch in your marketing and communication and no-one expects you to be perfect at everything you do. Therefore, don’t be afraid of making mistakes because they’re a critical part of your journey to Web 2.0 success. Just focus on taking action and learning something new every time.
I hope you find these ideas useful for your business.
I would enjoy hearing your opinion about which you think are the main Web 2.0 success habits?

BRAVO LASSE! You said it all.
Thank you for your continued help. Your training has moved me forward on you tube.
Collective Collaboration is vital if we are to succeed.
No one can do this alone, why should we when we can have the best minds pull together.
Setting the example is better than preaching.

You can learn the details and perfect the process as you go. Visualizing the outcome your wanting to achieve will help give you the confidence to get started!
Outstanding reasoning Lasse.
I think that's what I'm trying to do, but sometimes fail. Those are the moments I'm not that social.
I think you're great in building relationships. It's embedded in your personality. Not everyone has such capabilities, but you do.
I'm sure you will put them to good use.
Regards,
Case
Lasse, this was a fantastic article. You are right-it really is all about sharing value and building relationships with others. If one does this, they can become successful. Thanks for taking the time to be a mentor to all of us.
Once again your heart shines through. Without a doubt, when people help people it creates a far better place - whether on the internet or in the real world. However, just as "The Secret" was amazing, the one message that was missed was the "TAKE ACTION" part - so I am delighted you highlighted that here for us all. Lasse, you are a gentleman. I can't wait for your next training. Thank you.
My favorite part os this article were all of them but #'s 3 and 4 were pretty doggone good. Thank you.
I think you should figure out a way to get these two to the presidential candidates and all their constituents, maybe we'd have a more interesting race to the top.
Thank you sir.
